Hey Diddle Diddle...
Patrick Flannagan says, "I'd play the fiddle all day if I could, but the Lord and my cat wouldn't take it very good so I fiddle when I can and work when I should." Patrick and his grey tabby companion, Old Charlie, live in a tiny shanty by the tracks. When he isn't playing the fiddle for Old Charlie, Patrick tends his lovely pink roses. Patrick's roses are admired all over the county and down the line. Ladies love to receive a bouquet and a smile from Patrick Flannagan.
This cottage or track-side shanty is scratch built and features the following: - A hand-painted figure of Patrick Flannagan playing the fiddle for his cat. This figure started life as a Woodland Scenics figure but I've carefully repainted it

- Four Grandt Line windows
- One Grandt Line five panel door
- One stick-built porch
- A stack of firewood, neatly split
- Tar-paper roofing
- A scratch built smoke jack
- A toilet vent pipe
- Individually applied basswood battens and corner trim
- A trash-can
- A flagstone walkway
- Climbing roses in full bloom
The model sits on a 3 1/2" by 3 1/2" fully sceniced plywood base. The sloping hillside is made using foam core board and Durham's Water Putty. The scenery is a combination of real dirt and Woodland Scenics ground foam. At the highest point, the model stands just under 2 3/4 " tall. The main structure is made from acid free matt board braced with bass wood strips. This model will be double boxed and sent via Priority Mail.
