Before you could say "Jack Robinson Cah-roo-soo!" Folks were lining up around the block for a taste of old Cal's All American BBQ. Cal keeps his smoker stoked with mesquite and folks drive from at least 100 miles of bad roads to get a taste. $180 with Free Shipping via Priority Mail. All American BBQ Diorama includes the following features:
- a scratchbuilt false front shop
- scratch built smoker with rivit details
- well weathered tar-paper roofing
- a suggested interior -counter, tile floor, cash register
- a side building made from different materials- weathered clapboard, corrugated metal, tarpaper and battens
- two laser cut doors
- a huge pile of stacked, cut wood ready to go in the smoker (this was a major task!)
- a pile of unstacked, split wood (hand split from toothpicks --this took a while too)
- a weedy, cracked sidewalk
- Prudence the Pink Pig ... Cal's mascot
- Assorted custom made signs
- Assorted vintage advertising signs
This model would be suitable for almost any era North American diorama. The model sits on an 1/8th inch thick balsawood base that measures 4 1/4" square. Measured from the bottom of the base, the highest point on the model is just over 3" tall. As always, I will include a detailed materials list and a brief how-to should you wish to match the scenery materials that I used to make this diorama.
This model would be suitable for almost any era North American model railroad layout. I hope that this hand made, signed and dated, diorama will find a place on your z-scale train layout or as a conversation piece on your shelf, mantle, or desk.
Please note this is a scale model, not a toy. It is not suitable for children or anyone who puts things in their mouth or up their nostrils. Besides it is much too nice for children or for people who put things up their nostrils (except for sinus stuff...that's okay).
< Shipping- The model will be double-boxed and shipped via Priority Mail or Express mail. Though it is unlikely, some small parts may come loose during shipping and can be easily reattached with super glue. So far, customers have been pleased with both my work and my packaging (do check my feedback).
