| The Early Milling Company is often the first company contractors and carpenters call when they've got a difficult window or crown molding. John Early rises with the sun, always has. After all his daddy always told him, "John, it is the Early bird that gets the worm".
Early Milling Co. Z-Scale Diorama includes the following features: - a main building and 2 additions
- 4 large factory windows with broken panes and tinted panes/li>
- a rusty sheet metal roof made from the foil on a wine bottle
- tan asphalt roofing with a tarpaper patch
- weathered tar paper roofing
- 4 large loading doors
- a scratch built hollowed out chimney with brick detail
- a scratch built cyclone vent with spidery duct work
- a hand painted rusted up pickup truck and a green sedan from MakeMyModel (loose - put them where you like)
- a hand built rickety stairway
- a weathered trackside loading dock detailed with some boxes, a bundle of wood, and rolls of tarpaper
- a hand made power meter box
- hand made vents

- an assortment of custom signs

The model sits on an 1/8th inch thick aircraft plywood base that measures roughly 3" x 6". Measured from the bottom of the base, the highest point on the model is just under 2 3/4" tall. As always, I will include a detailed materials list and a brief how-to should you wish to match the scenery materials that I used to make this diorama. This model would be suitable for any era from the 19th century to the present day (of course the truck is modern and the power box could be anachronistic but could be removed). I hope that this hand made, signed and dated, diorama will find a place on your z-scale train layout or as a conversation piece on your shelf, mantle, or desk. Please note this is a scale model, not a toy. It is not suitable for children. Besides it is much too nice for children in any case. |
