I've always made models on a pretty tight budget.  As a kid, my dad paid me a penny for each Japanese Beetle I pulled off of his bean plants.  I'd go out in the garden with a jar of turpentine and collect beetles until I had enough to buy a model kit at the downtown Woolworth.  As a result, I'm pretty tight with my hobby dollars.

Whenever possible, I look for inexpensive, or even better, free materials.  Most of the time I am willing to spend more time on a project in order to spend less dollars.  A little knowledge helps.

I don't try to reinvent the wheel, but every now and again I come up with an idea that works pretty well. Those tips and techniques will appear here.

Building models is simple, relaxing, and good fun.  Get building!

Please note that many hobby products are dangerous.  They involve sharp pointy bits and nasty chemicals.  Please take time to use the proper safety equipment at all times.  Remember that the most important piece of safety equipment is your brain. Be safe and have fun.
