I've always made models on a pretty tight budget. As a kid, my dad paid me a penny for each Japanese Beetle I pulled off of his bean plants. I'd go out in the garden with a jar of turpentine and collect beetles until I had enough to buy a model kit at the downtown Woolworth. As a result, I'm pretty tight with my hobby dollars. Whenever possible, I look for inexpensive, or even better, free materials. Most of the time I am willing to spend more time on a project in order to spend less dollars. A little knowledge helps.
I don't try to reinvent the wheel,
but every now and again I come up with an idea that works pretty well.
Those tips and techniques will appear here. Building models is simple, relaxing, and good fun. Get building!
