| Ranch House with Blue Pickup Truck
Joe D'Plumba bought this house because of the quiet neighborhood. Then all those folks started moving in with their rowdy kids and yapping dogs. If this keeps up the neighborhood won't be the same. Joe's thinking they should start some sort of watch to keep an eye on those darn teenagers and he figures that if he has to yell, "Stay off my grass" one more time he might just explode.
This little ranch house is typical of those found all over the United States. A modest bungalow featuring:
- a perfect picture window for the front room
- a front door with a fan window and door knob
- brass porch lamp
- laser cut three tab shingles
- curtains
- an amazing herringbone walkway
- a hand-crafted pine tree
- a hand painted Make My Model pickup truck
- a detailed chimney
- open windows
- a weathered concrete driveway
- flower beds filled with blooming poppies
- several shrubs
- a base with complete scenery
The model sits on a laminated base of birch plywood and Gatorfoam (tm) that measures 3" x 3 5/8". At its highest point, the tree, the model stands approximately 1 3/4" tall. As always, I will include a detailed materials list and a brief how-to should you wish to match the scenery materials that I used to make this diorama. I hope that this hand made, signed and dated, diorama will find a place on your z-scale train layout or as a conversation piece on your shelf, mantle, or desk.
Please note this is a scale model, not a toy. It is not suitable for children. Besides it is much too nice for children in any case.
